Park Dolores
Situated off the I-15 in the Mojave desert, the now defunct waterpark, Lake Dolores Waterpark, is in need of a make-over several decades after its closure. The California City studio at CCA, asked students to repurpose a closed, abandoned or other wise unused space in the Mojave desert, and transform it into desirable destination. My proposal sought to bring water back to the dried up waterpark by collecting run-off from adjacent alfalfa fields into the now empty pool basins. The water would be used not for entertainment, but as an additive in clay material that the 3d-printing robot named ‘Alice’ has been using to build a new campus for research studies on genetically modified fertilizer.
